John Martines and his Newton Lake Park Prize.

Newton Lake resident John Martines was kind enough to share some photos of his beautifully restored 1910 Herschell/Spillman armored horse. The Carbondale, PA carousel was dismantled way back in 1973 and John was fortunate enough to become the proud owner of one of the finest steeds on the machine. John reports that the once popular Newton Lake Amusement Park is now fully developed with single family homes.
