Wurlitzer Style 165
This month we feature a beautiful Wurlitzer style 165 band organ. The
organ is in the huge collection of music machines of Don Neilson.

This particular 165 is the last band organ to be shipped from the
Wurlitzer factory. The shipping date was June 14th, 1939. The organ was
shipped to Ross Davis, a Wurlitzer dealer located in California.
The organ is unique in that it is a 165 organ with a style 157 front. It
is thought that the factory had an extra style 157 front which had been
manufactured before the order for the 165 was placed and the customer was
agreeable to having this front on the 165 chassis.
This 165 band organ is one of ten examples know to have survived.
